What is ISO 45001 Safety essentials training?
ISO 45001 is the much anticipated new international safety management system standard. The safety essentials course is a dynamic and interactive workshop designed to provide a basic overview and contextualised introduction to ISO 45001 which is centred on practical application in your business.
In addition to this, the Safety essentials course will highlight the key differences between ISO 45001 and the existing safety management system standards; AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001.

The Safety Essentials Course covers the following learning outcomes:
- Basic understanding of the new international standard ISO 45001
- The role of leadership in safety
- How to develop the framework for your safety system
- Develop a framework for objectives and targets
- Start planning your internal audit and incident management
- Hazard identification and risk assessment
- Considerations for emergency response planning
The course is designed to provide a basic and contextualised introduction to the standards. Emphasis is placed on practical application by considering how the standard applies to your business. Upon completion of this course, students will be deemed competent against BSBMGT403 Implement Continuous Improvement.
Who can take these courses?
Entry Requirements? There aren’t any. You are not required to have any prior knowledge of either Safety Management systems in order to take this essentials training course.
The safety essentials course is suitable for all those keen to develop an understanding of ISO 45001 and how it practically applies in the work place. This course is suited to those new to safety system certification, as well as those looking to migrate from AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 to the new standard. There are no entry requirements for this course.
